The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) is currently reviewing new promotions and packages proposed by local telecom operators following the implementation of new calling rates earlier this month, Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper has reported citing industry sources.
In February, the telecom regulator slashed the kingdom’s wholesale mobile termination charges (MTRs) by 40 percent to SAR 0.15 from the SAR 0.25 previously charged. The CITC also announced that fixed termination rates will be reduced to SAR 0.07 from SAR 0.10, according to data available on Argaam.
