A total of 301 water projects worth SAR 25.2 billion are currently underway in Saudi Arabia’s major cities, as part of the government’s strategy to expand infrastructure and to reach a growing population, National Water Co. (NWC) said in a statement.
As many as 127 projects worth SAR 5.5 billion are in the process of being tendered and contracted, while the remaining 174 projects costing SAR 19 billion are already being carried out in Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, and Ta’if.
NWC added that SAR 1.8 billion is being invested this year alone towards water sanitation and infrastructure enhancements.
