Saudi Arabia’s Communication and Information Technology Commission will implement a decision to slash tariffs of local voice calls starting early May, local newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported.

The decision will lead telecommunication companies operating in the kingdom to revamp their offers and plans to meet new prices.

In early February, the commission decided to reduce the total tariff of terminal local voice calls on mobile networks. The new ceiling of the tariff will be SAR 0.15 from SAR 0.25.

The total tariff of terminal vocal calls on landlines was slashed from SAR 0.1 to SAR 0.07.
