Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) said that its subsidiary Maaden Phosphate Company (MPC) has stopped operations at its ammonia plant located at its complex in Ras Al Khair city due to technical problems in the cooling facility.
The plant will be down for 10 days starting from March 23, the company said in statement to Tadawul.
Maaden said the shutdown will have no financial impact on the company, nor its ability to meet obligations towards its customers as it will use ammonia inventory, which is the feedstock for the production of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP).
MPC is a limited liability company 70 percent owned by Maaden and 30 percent owned by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).
