Saudi telecom operators may block WhatsApp voice calls: Al Watan

Telecom operators in Saudi Arabia are planning to ask the kingdom’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) to block WhatsApp voice calls on mobile phones, according to a report published by Al Watan newspaper.

 

The report pointed out that the step is necessary to protect the rights of local telecom operators, as well as to maintain competitiveness in the market.
