Saudi Sharq Petrochemical said to resume MEG facility operations early April

Saudi Arabian Sharq Eastern Petrochemical Co. plans to resume operations at its 700,000 mt/year No. 4 monoethylene glycol plant in early April, according to Platts news service. 
 
Operations halted in Al-Jubail-based facility at the end of February for a reactor change. 
 
The other three of the facility’s MEG units— with capacities of 450,000 mt/year for the No.1 line, 450,000 mt/year for No.2, and 500,000 mt/year for No.3— are currently operating at near-full capacity. 
 
Sharq Eastern Petrochemical is equally owned by Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) and a consortium of Japanese companies led by Mitsubishi Corp.
