Alinma Tokio Marine Co. (ATMC) said on Wednesday that its board named Jun Hemmi as the company’s new chief executive, effective Feb. 1.
The company’s board said it accepted the resignation of chief executive Ajmal Bhatty, who stepped down for personal reasons.
The resignation— submitted on Nov. 20, 2014— will be effective as of Jan. 31, ATMC said in a statement to Tadawul, Saudi Arabia’s bourse.
Hemmi holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Keio University in Japan. He has broad experience in Asian and Middle Eastern emerging markets, as he worked for Tokio Marine Group in the lines of general insurance, as well as protection and savings insurance.
He also served as chief executive for New Delhi-based IFFCO Tokio General Insurance and Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance Co., Mumbai, India. Hemmi was also the chief operating officer of Tokio Marine Asia in Singapore.
