Saudi Arabia’s ministry of commerce and industry has said that it will reconsider allowing cement exports over the coming period, said Jihad Al-Rashid, head of the National Committee of Cement Producers at the kingdom's council of chambers.
Al-Rashid was quoted in Alriyadh newspaper as saying that “doors will be open for cement exports” after the ministry coordinates with other governmental entities to lay out the required regulations.
According to data available on Argaam, the ministry of commerce and industry in 2012 had banned cement and clinker exports in order to meet the kingdom’s supply and demand needs, as well as to stabilize prices.
