POS transactions rise to SAR 16.2 billion in Saudi Arabia

The sale transactions conducted through points of sale (POS) equipment around Saudi Arabia in June rose by 24 percent to SAR 16.2 billion, compared to SAR 13.07 billion in the same month last year.

The transactions were conducted through a total 32 million deals on 122,000 equipment scattered around the kingdom, a Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) report said.

The report added that cash withdrawal transactions conducted on automatic teller machines (ATMs) in June rose by around 12 percent to around SAR 64.42 billion from last year’s figure.

Such withdrawals were conducted from around 14,700 machines in a total 132.5 million deals.
