Saudi Arabia ‘strong enough’ to withstand crisis: SABIC chairman

16/12/2014 Argaam

Saudi Arabia is strong enough to pass any crisis facing the global economy, said Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thenayan Al-Saud, chairman of Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC).

“We are optimistic about the future because we have a strong economy, as well as technical and human resources,” Al-Saud said.

According to Saudi's state news agency, Al-Saud discussed his outlook for the kingdom’s economy while hosting the Emir of Riyadh.

“Saudis are known to be capable of managing their local and external projects professionally,” he said.

He also pointed out that SABIC is aiming to diversify its sources of income, while benefiting from natural resources like gas and petrochemicals.

The global economic crisis of 2008 has proven that Saudi’s economy can withstand shocks and come out strong because of its sturdy foundation, he added.
