Saudis have spent SAR 29.6 billion on foreign summer vacations and SAR 6.2 on holidays at home, according to the Tourism Information and Research Center, MAS, the statics body of the Tourism Commission.
About 51 percent of the tourists went to Dubai, Bahrain and Qatar, 29.6 percent traveled to Middle Eastern countries, 10.2 percent spent their summer in Europe and America and 9.2 percent in South Asia.
Domestic travel tours grew 5 percent to 5.8 million trips this summer, compared to last year’s.
Foreign travel trips declined 2 percent to 5.5 million trips this summer, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
