Maaden starts up rolling mill plant

Further to the companys announcement on Tadawul on 06/05/1432H (corresponding to 08/05/2011G), the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) announces that on Tuesday 28/02/1435H (corresponding to 31/12/2013G) the preliminary start-up of the Maaden rolling mill plant of its subsidiary Maaden Rolling Company, which is 74.9% owned by Maaden and 25.1% owned by Alcoa. 

The rolling mill is designed to produce 380,000 tonnes per year of aluminum sheets, which will be used in the manufacture of aluminum cans and other products used in the aluminum industries.

The product will go through certain qualification procedures to reach initial production, which is expected to be during Q2 2014. The financial impact will be considered upon commercial production.

Any material developments will be announced in due time
