23/05/2011 Argaam

Nama Chemicals Co has extended the experimental operation of its sodium chloride plant, which was scheduled to be fully operational by the end of this year, because of some technical difficulties.

The waste water treatment unit is working at full capacity, but the sodium chloride production unit is yet to produce at full capacity envisioned in the original design. It is expected to reach full production capacity by the end of the year, the company said in a statement to the Saudi bourse, Tadawul.

The plant is part of Hasad project. Commercial operation of Hasad’s  Epichlorohydrin plant, used in making epoxy, and sodium hydroxide plant, used in making soda pellets, has already started.
