Yanbu Cement to import clinker shipment from UAE

Yanbu Cement will import 400,000 tonnes of clinker from the United Arab Emirates, and will start receiving shipments next month, General Manager Ahmed Zugail said.

The imports will help the company bolster its inventory, and in turn its cement production to meet rising demand, especially in the fourth quarter this year.

King Abdullah urged producers to boost cement production, by building three to four new plants and importing ten million tonnes to meet local demand.
