US crude oil inventories increased for the third consecutive week, data released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) on March 19 showed.

 

Commercial crude inventories rose by 1.7 million barrels in the week ended March 14, well above expectations of a 500,000-barrel rise.

 

Meanwhile, gasoline inventories declined by 500,000 barrels, with distillate stocks—including diesel and heating oil—decreasing by 2.8 million barrels.
