Al-Jouf Agricultural Development Co. signed today, March 11, a partnership deal with South Korea-based E Green Global (EGG) to produce high-quality potato seeds using advanced global technologies.

 

In a Tadawul filing, Al-Jouf Agricultural said it will set up a high-tech laboratory at its Busaita-based Al-Jouf Agricultural Development Complex to produce potato seeds.

The company will also invest SAR 15 million in the Korean firm through convertible bonds.

 

Local production is expected to begin in Q2 2026, Al-Jouf Agricultural stated, adding that the related financial impact will be announced later.

 

On Jan. 22, 2024, Al-Jouf Agricultural signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with EGG to transfer the technology of potato seed production to Saudi Arabia, according to Argaam’s data.
