The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), in cooperation with the National Center for Privatization (NCP), announced the launch of the Expression of Interest phase for the logistics zone development project in the Second Industrial City in Dammam.
This project will be implemented under public-private partnership (PPP) through a (design - construction - financing - operation - maintenance - transfer) contract for a period of 30 years, with the aim of strengthening the Kingdom's logistics infrastructure to become a global logistics hub.
The project spans over an area of 850,000 square meters in a strategic location within the Second Industrial City in Dammam, to be a pivotal element in facilitating the movement of trade, enhancing border connectivity, and supporting industrial expansion.
The project will include the development of modern logistics facilities, advanced storage solutions, and the operation and maintenance of supporting infrastructure, ensuring smooth integration with current and future industrial activities. This is in addition to including fenced and non-fenced public areas, rental spaces, and an area dedicated to infrastructure and facilities.
The private sector will be responsible for financing, designing and constructing the spaces allocated for leasing, maintaining the infrastructure, managing operations and maintenance, in addition to attracting tenants, leasing commercial spaces, and achieving financial returns.
According to MODON, the applications submission phase for interested local and international investors will end on March 9, 2025.
