Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasury bonds increased by $1.95 billion month-on-month to $137.5 billion in December 2024, new data released by the US Treasury showed.
The Kingdom maintained its 17th place among the largest holders of US Treasuries for the month.
Long-term bonds accounted for $111.3 billion, or 81% of total holdings. Meanwhile, short-term bonds amounted to $26.2 billion, or 19% of the total.
Japan was the top holder of US Treasuries by value in December, with $1.05 trillion, followed by China ($759 billion).
