Riyadh Air says aviation sector growing

Osamah Alnuaiser, Senior Vice President Marketing & Corporate Communication at Riyadh Air, said that competition among the aviation sector operators is always healthy, especially in a growing market, both locally and internationally.

The market offers travelers numerous options, particularly for flights to and from Riyadh, connecting them to the world, and competition currently revolves around innovative products and services, he told Al-Eqtisadiah.

He explained that what makes Riyadh Air different is that it started as the largest startup in the aviation and travel sector. This allowed it to offer the best services and products to gain and maintain market share through marketing strategies and continuous development that align with passenger needs.

Alnuaiser pointed out that once aircraft purchase deals are completed, Riyadh Air aims to contribute to transporting more than 330 million passengers as part of the strategic plan for transport and logistics services, specifically supporting the goals of the National Aviation Strategy, which aims to increase seating capacity and freight capability.

Riyadh Air signed an agreement last October to buy 60 Airbus A321neo aircraft in preparation for launching its operations in 2025.

Bloomberg reported last week that Riyadh Air is in talks with Boeing and Airbus to order an additional 50 wide-body aircraft.

Riyadh Air aims to launch flights to more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030. After its establishment, the company announced its first fleet order with the purchase of 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
