Public Investment Fund (PIF)-backed electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Ceer signed a partnership agreement worth SAR 543 million ($145 million) with Italy-based Sabelt, a global leader in high-performance car safety systems.

Trusted by brands like Ferrari, Aston Martin, Maserati, Alpine and McLaren, Sabelt, under the deal, will engineer, develop, and produce innovative sports seats for Ceer’s upcoming flagship sedan and SUV models, Ceer said on its official website.

Sabelt will create bespoke high-performance seats for Ceer, ensuring maximum protection, ergonomic comfort, and superior efficiency in extreme conditions. Designed to combine safety, comfort, and cutting-edge aesthetics, the seats will feature an integrated belt system (ABTS) within a metal structure and an exceptionally low H-point, ideal for sports cars, it noted.

Ceer, Saudi Arabia’s first EV brand, was launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in November 2022, in line with PIF’s strategy focused on enabling promising sectors to diversifying the Saudi economy.

This is as per the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, and in alignment with the Kingdom’s objectives to lower carbon emissions and safeguard the environment to foster sustainable development.
