During a Republican Party conference in Miami, US President Donald Trump cautioned that the Chinese startup "DeepSeek" should serve as a wake-up call for American technology companies, stressing the importance of prioritizing competition to win.

This statement followed the success of DeepSeek's latest artificial intelligence (AI) models, which triggered a significant decline in the stock prices of several major US tech firms.

Trump believes that the latest advancements in China's AI industry could be beneficial for the US by making technology more affordable.

The president-elect suggested that advancements in China's AI industry could benefit the United States by making technology more affordable. "If you can achieve the same end result at a lower cost, I think that's a good thing for us," Trump said, as quoted by the BBC.

He added that he is not worried about China's AI breakthroughs, affirming that the United States will continue to be a dominant player in the field.
