Al Gassim Investment Holding Co. (GACO) announced today, Jan. 16, recent updates on the filing of a lawsuit against Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) to claim the remaining revived area.

In a statement to Tadawul, the company said it received from its lawyer today the ruling of the Administrative Court in Riyadh, which entailed the annulment of the dispute resolution committee on fallow lands’ decision.

The ruling is subject to appeal within 30 days, it added.

In December 2024, the company said the Administrative Court of Appeal ruled to accept its appeal against MEWA over the revived land claims. The court overturned the previous decision and referred the case back for review, according to data available to Argaam.

GACO said the appeal was accepted on procedural grounds, nullifying the prior ruling and sending the case to the relevant judicial circuit for further consideration.

In August 2024, GACO received an administrative court ruling in Riyadh, stating it lacked jurisdiction to hear the company’s case against the ministry regarding ownership of the remaining revived land area.

In June 2024, the company filed a lawsuit with the Riyadh Administrative Court to claim the remaining revived land after the committee’s decision.
