Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Services Group expects operations at its new hospitals in Muhammadiyah and Al Kharj to begin in Q2 2025 after obtaining the relevant regulatory approvals and licenses.

In separate statements to Tadawul, the medical service provider said that the construction, electrical and mechanical works for the operational requirements have been completed.

Additionally, the company has completed the connection and launch of water, electricity and air-conditioning services for the two hospitals. The supply of operational requirements, including medical devices, medical furniture and non-medical furniture, and the recruitment of the medical and nursing staff for the phased operational requirements of the projects have been finalised.

The group also confirmed the start of the testing and commissioning works for the initial operational requirements of the project elements, including air-conditioning systems, electrical and mechanical works, and safety systems as per the relevant standards.

Meanwhile, the installation of the medical equipment, medical furniture, and non-medical furniture started in Q4 2024.

Sulaiman Al Habib expects that the testing and commissioning works for the operational requirements of the projects’ elements, as well as furnishing works, will continue in Q1 2025, for obtaining required licenses for operating the projects, given the regional logistical challenges and its impact on supply chains and the size and magnitude of the projects works.

However, the company does not expect that the timeframe for the commissioning and furnishing phases will result in a material delay to the previously announced timeline to start operating the projects.

The hospitals operator forecasts no additional costs or financial impact from the projects not being operational in 2024.

Any developments in this regards will be announced in due course, the statement said.
