Tihama Advertising and Public Relations Co. announced that its former Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Aziz Najib Al-Suwailem, initiated legal proceedings against the company, alleging wrongful termination, according to a Tadawul statement.

The lawsuit, filed with the Riyadh Labor Court, claims that the company ended his contract without a valid reason upon the board of directors’ decision to terminate his position on Nov. 5, 2024.

Tihama said that the plaintiff claimed SAR 12.4 million in unpaid entitlements, as per the lawsuit. However, the potential financial impact of this case cannot be determined at the current time.

A legal counsel was appointed to handle the case, the statement added, asserting that it is not possible to estimate the potential liability arising from the lawsuit at this stage nor any associated legal implications or risks until the court hearings commence.

Any related developments will be announced in due course.

According to data available with Argaam, the board of directors invited the company's general assembly earlier this month to vote on filing a liability lawsuit against former board member Abdul Al-Suwailem, who had direct and indirect executive powers through the company and its subsidiaries. The board requested the assembly to authorize it to take necessary legal and regulatory measures in this regard.
