The Saudi Cabinet, Chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, approved, on Nov. 26, the state’s general budget for 2025.
The budget included approving public expenditures of SAR 1.285 trillion in 2025, while public revenues were estimated at SAR 1.184 trillion, resulting in an expected deficit of SAR 101 billion.
In the economic resources sector, the most prominent targets for 2025 included reaching SAR 127 million tourists on Kingdom level, with SAR 346.6 billion in tourism spending.
The targets also included providing 1,500 export opportunities for Saudi exporting companies, supporting the participation of 60 franchise brands, and developing 50 local brands to expand the franchise business model.
As for the public administration sector, the budget plans for increasing the number of inbound visitors to perform Umrah, bringing their number to 15 million pilgrims.
In the municipal services sector, the major goals for 2025 included providing 80,000 housing units in partnership with real estate developers in various regions of the Kingdom, serving more than 100,000 beneficiaries of housing support through various housing products.
Meanwhile, the goals included increasing the number of qualified contractors with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing to reach 24,000 contractors, in addition to issuing 85% of commercial licenses within 24 hours through “Balady” platform.
