The Ministry of Energy announced that Saudi Arabia has joined the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE), as part of its efforts to support global initiatives for the development of this sector, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

In a statement, the ministry emphasized that this step highlights the Kingdom's leadership in international efforts to enhance sustainability and innovate advanced solutions in clean energy fields.

The move aligns with the Kingdom's ambition to become one of the world's leading producers and exporters of clean hydrogen, aiming to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2060 or earlier. This comes in accordance with the circular carbon economy framework and the availability of necessary technologies.
