Ahmad Darwish, Chief Administrative Officer of Red Sea Global (RSG), revealed that the first phase of the Red Sea project will be completed next year, which will comprise 16 resorts and an airport.
On the sidelines of the eighth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Summit, Darwish told Argaam that the company is gearing up to inaugurate Desert Rock Resort over the coming two months, bringing the total number of on-site resorts to five.
Next year will also witness the opening of the luxury tourist destination Amaala, the second Red Sea destination developed by RSG. It will include eight wellness resorts, reinforcing the provision of unique and integrated tourism experiences, he added.
Darwish also indicated that local content represents 75% of corporates taking part in the project, reflecting RSG's commitment to supporting the local economy and cooperating with Saudi partners.
He stated that such mega tourist destinations represent a pivotal achievement in the making by RSG, reflecting the ongoing efforts to achieve its vision on the ground.
Regarding the opening of the Sheybarah Island resort, he said that the resort is distinguished by its unique design. It is also surrounded by a distinct marine environment that includes coral reefs and various activities, making it one of the world’s most alluring resorts.
Darwish also highlighted that the Red Sea project attracts visitors from all over the world, while providing top-notch hospitality.
In October 2023, RSG announced the launch of the first phase of the Red Sea destination, as it started receiving foreign visitors, data available to Argaam showed.
