The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) launched the second batch of reliable, high-quality geological data packages to add value to the mining sector, and attract local and foreign investments in Saudi Arabia, the state-run SPA reported.
The official spokesperson for SGS, Tariq Aba Al-Khail, said this data will play a significant role in stimulating the economy and diversifying income sources in line with the goals of Vision 2030.
The new geological datasets cover 30% of the Arabian Shield, increasing the publication rate on the National Geological Database platform to 60% since the initiative began.
The data includes surface geochemical and airborne geophysical survey information for the general geological survey program.
Additionally, it features primary data from the optical scanning of core drill samples, over 4,000 technical reports related to mineralization sites in digital format, and newly registered mineralization sites on the National Geological Information Database platform, Aba Al-Khail explained.
