AviLease, an aviation financing and leasing firm owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), acquired nine aircraft from international leasing firm Avalon.

This transaction follows last year’s successful purchase of 13 aircraft from Avolon.,The acquired portfolio offers attractive yields and further contributes to the diversification of the AviLease aircraft portfolio, which comprises 167 owned aircraft (including purchase commitments) and 23 managed aircraft on lease to 48 airlines globally.

Edward O’Byrne, CEO, AviLease, said that the company successfully accelerated the pace of its operations and expanded the scope of its lucrative aircraft leasing platform within two years of commencing operations, thanks to its ability to deploy capital via multiple channels.

PIF launched the aircraft leasing firm in June 2022 to initially focus on fleet management services and direct orders from aircraft manufacturers. Moreover, AviLease works towards expanding its operations through the purchase and re-lease of aircraft, as well as implementing direct purchase orders from aircraft manufacturers, according to Argaam's data.
