Oil tanks
Crude oil inventories in the US fell by 4.3 million barrels during the week ended Sept. 20, data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed.
Gasoline stocks decreased by 3.4 million barrels during the past week, while distillate stocks (including diesel and heating oil) decreased by about 1.1 million barrels.
Meanwhile, Brent crude futures for November delivery rose 1.7%, or $1.27, to close at $75.17 a barrel on Sept. 24.
WTI crude futures for November delivery (the most active contract) gained 1.7%, or $1.19, to $71.56 per barrel.
