AMAK starts commercial operations at new processing plant

Almasane Alkobra Mining Co. (AMAK) said Al Masane mine expansion project (Moyeath orebody development and related processing plant) started commercial production on Sept. 15, following completion of work.

 

In a statement to Tadawul, the company said that the new plant is designed to process approximately 400,000 tons annually.

The new plant features advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and quality of products, leading to an increase in the production of zinc and copper concentrates by approximately 80% and 40%, respectively, at lower production costs.

 

The plant is a key milestone in achieving the company’s strategy to develop and increase the production of zinc and copper concentrates. It reflects AMAK’s commitment to utilizing mining resources more effectively.

 

Through advanced technology and innovative techniques, the plant will contribute to enhancing production and efficiency, which in turn will help achieve the company’s sustainable growth objectives, the statement added.

 

The financial impact of commercial production will be reflected in the company's financial results in Q3 2024 on a pro-rata basis, the company also noted.
