Jessica Wong, Founder and Managing Partner of eWTP Arabia Capital, said the size of the Chinese fund’s investments in the Kingdom exceeds $600 million, in an interview with Argaam.
The company launched its regional headquarters in Riyadh six years ago and currently manages several investments, she added on the sidelines of the FinTech 24 Conference held in Riyadh.
The top executive also indicated that eWTP Arabia Capital’s first product is a $400 million digital innovation fund that has invested in a model of 18 products over the past four years, including Saudi Cloud Computing Co. (SCCC) and Sahm Capital. She pointed to the possibility of listing some of eWTP's portfolio companies on the Saudi market.
Furthermore, Wong stressed the company’s keenness to support Saudi Arabia through extensive efforts with its strategic partner and shareholders. It is committed to creating job opportunities and providing more programs for knowledge exchange across various fields.
There are huge opportunities in Saudi Arabia, especially when a traditional industry is trying to become digital. Technology-driven innovation, which is deemed the biggest opportunity, is necessary, the top executive underlined.
The Kingdom could further enhance advanced infrastructure in terms of digital transformation, while also supporting innovation, according to Wong.
