King Salman issued a Royal Decree, based on a proposal from Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, stating that the Cabinet meeting shall be chaired by the oldest member who is one of the descendants of Founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, if neither the Cabinet Chairman nor any of his deputies are in attendance.

This decree is an exception to the provisions of Article 7 of the Cabinet Law issued under Royal Order A/13 related to the presidency of Cabinet meetings, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The decisions taken in that meeting shall be ratified by the Cabinet Chairman.
