The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development said that the Cabinet's approval to amend a number of articles of the Labor Law aims to create a more attractive work environment for workers, while contributing to sustainable development in accordance with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
These amendments also align with the labor market strategy and international agreements ratified by the local government, it added.
According to the Ministry, the changes aim to improve the Saudi labor market, enhance job stability, preserve the rights of parties to the contractual relationship, in addition to developing human cadres, providing more training opportunities for workers, and bolstering job creation.
The amendments follow an extensive study based on standard comparisons with labor laws in multiple countries, and a study of global best practices.
