The US natural gas inventories added 10 billion cubic feet (Bcf) in the week ended July 12, below forecasts for a 27-Bcf increase.
Total natural gas reserves amounted to 3.20 trillion cubic feet for the week, an uptick of 8.4% (or roughly 250 Bcf), compared to the same period last year, data from the US Energy Information Administration showed.
Current inventories are higher by 16.9%, or about 465 Bcf, above the five-year average (2019-2023) of 2.74 trillion cubic feet.
