A US market trading hall
US stock exchanges are closed today, July 4, an official holiday in observance of Independence Day, after Wall Street trading ended early yesterday in a shortened session. Trading will resume tomorrow.
All eyes are on the release of monthly non-farm payrolls data on Friday, which shows the state of the US labor market and influences the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decisions. Expectations suggest that the economy will add 190,000 jobs in June.
This is after the ADP report showed that US private sector jobs grew less than expected in June, with US unemployment claims also soaring last week.
