Saudi Global Ports (SGP) signed an agreement with China’s SANY to supply King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with 80 electric trucks.

 

In a statement, the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) said today, June 25, this is the largest ever single contract globally signed by SANY for the manufacture and supply of electric trucks. Accordingly, the port will boast the largest fleet of electric trucks in the Middle East upon completion of the deal.

The deal is part of the commercial support contracts concluded by Mawani with SGP, at an investment value of SAR 7 billion.

 

SGP was established in 2012 and started commercial operations on April 23, 2015. It is a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund, Singapore's PSA International, and Al-Blagha Holding Co. SGP operates the first and second container terminals at King Abdulaziz Port, Dammam, according to data available with Argaam.

 

In February, SGP was reported as considering an initial public offering (IPO) on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul), according to media sources.
