Saudi Coffee Co. (SCC), a Public Investment Fund (PIF) subsidiary, will start building its first plant in Jazan by the end of this month, expecting to start operations in early Q2 2025.

The factory will start operating with a production capacity of up to 27,000 tons per year of green coffee, including 9,000 tons per year of roasted coffee, with the possibility of doubling the production capacity, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

The company pointed out its plan to expand its agricultural operations and establish model farms in Jazan or any other region in southern Saudi Arabia in response to the continuous increase in coffee demand. The company's investments are focused on developing the local coffee industry, starting from farming, then processing and manufacturing, followed by promotion and marketing.

Saudi Coffee stated that once established, the factory will deal with all local farmers to receive crops at a coffee processing center, which will then be transported to the company's factory production lines as green coffee for roasting and packaging. The company contracts local suppliers to purchase and reproduce Arabica coffee seedlings and does not import coffee beans for cultivation, relying primarily on local farming.

According to available data on Argaam, Saudi Coffee recently received a license to build its first coffee production factory in the Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries from the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY).
