The signing of the agreement
The General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) signed today, May 22, an implementation contract with Elm Co. for air cargo services (transit), through the “Washaj” electronic platform for airfreight. The contract aims to automate all processes related to transit shipments.
The contract was signed by GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej and Elm CEO AbdulRahman Aljadhai, on the sidelines of the Future Aviation Forum (FAF 2024),.
The contract aims to improve the quality-of-service procedures, which in turn will reflect in increased transit shipments by air to the Kingdom and enable beneficiaries to track transit shipments electronically safely and accurately at various stages.
The contract includes establishing transit shipments service (transit) from the Washaj platform to enable GACA and beneficiaries to track transit shipments in an integrated electronic way. Beneficiaries are enabled to record information about all transit shipments and link them with the private sector systems and parties concerned within the system, along with services supporting the tracking, monitoring, and processing processes.
On the other hand, GACA’s Executive Vice-President for Aviation Security, Mohammed Al Fozan, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Elm’s CEO aimed at enhancing innovation by employing the latest technologies and artificial intelligence, and developing human capital, to improve operational processes.
