Eco-friendly cement production seen to rise to 5,000 tons/day: Yanbu Cement

Yanbu Cement Co. started actual production of eco-friendly green cement last year, expecting production to increase to 5,000 tons per day based on demand in the upcoming period, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing Adeeb Al-Tayyar VP to CEO for Marketing and Sales.

 

The company is the sole producer of green cement in Saudi Arabia. The company started with a production capacity of 1,000 tons per day, following studies and experiments upon request of NEOM in 2022.

 

Green cement is used in Vision 2030 projects, including NEOM, Tha Line, Oxagon, Trojena, the Red Sea Project, and the new Jazan Airport. These projects ensure that construction products are eco-friendly, increasing manufacturers' competitiveness, he concluded.
