Jayne McGivern, CEO of the Sports Boulevard Foundation, said the Sports Boulevard project will reinvent more than 16% of Riyadh.

On the sidelines of the World Smart Cities Forum, McGivern told Argaam that the project will enhance the appearance of Riyadh through the longitudinal promenade and the quality of design.

She added that the project will be carried out through the application of the urban code in the boulevard and its adjacent areas.

The Sports Boulevard is the largest longitudinal park in the world. It passes directly from Riyadh downtown through a high-density urban commercial and residential environment, where everyone can enjoy, relax, and commute to work or exercise sports daily.

The foundation worked to develop some assets, along with the Sports Boulevard, to achieve financial sustainability for operations and to manage the boulevard, McGivern noted.

She added that there are plenty of opportunities for investors in several areas, including hotels, offices, as well as entertainment and sports facilities.

In March 2019, King Salman launched the Sports Boulevard project, which spans 135 km and features sports, cultural, entertainment, and environmental activities, according to data available with Argaam.
