Advanced Supply Management Operations (ASMO) aims to build an efficient supply chain in Saudi Arabia. It also plans to manage Saudi Aramco's business and its subsidiaries in terms of supply chains, before adding procurement business, ASMO’s CEO Craig Roberts told Argaam in an interview.

Roberts explained that part of the company's vision is to expand its business to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, noting that the company will initially focus on Saudi Arabia, which has huge opportunities. Further expansions are due after adopting a suitable model, he underlined.

Both Saudi Aramco and DHL Supply Chain (DHL) are effective leaders in their respective fields. However, their integration has never been undertaken before, he said.

The CEO added that ASMO will be independent of Saudi Aramco and DHL, noting that the company will be self-financed and will work on the growth of its business. He also emphasized that ASMO is still in the stage of exploring investments.

Meanwhile, he pointed out that the company will work to build carbon-neutral stores and will enhance the efficiency of its network. However, the priority is to determine what ASMO has at disposal prior to setting a future plan.

According to data compiled by Argaam, Saudi Aramco and DHL recently announced the formation of a joint venture, ASMO, as a new procurement and logistics services hub in Saudi Arabia.
