International oil rig count rises in January: Baker Hughes

The international rig count increased by 45 units in January to 1,784 from 1,739 in December 2023, data from energy services firm Baker Hughes showed.

 

Oil rigs in the Middle East rose by 12 units month-on-month (MoM) to 348, and by 30 units year-on-year (YoY).

 

Similarly, the international oil and gas rig count, except for the US and Canada, increased by 10 units MoM to 965.
