Oil tankers
US oil inventories rose by nearly 483,000 barrels in the week ended Jan. 12, the American Petroleum Institute (API) data showed.
Gasoline stocks increased by 4.87 million barrels last week, while distillate stocks—including diesel and heating oil—added about 5.21 million barrels, API said.
Meanwhile, international benchmark Brent crude fell 0.5%, or 41 cents, to close at $77.88 a barrel on Jan. 17. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 0.2%, or 16 cents, to $72.56 a barrel.
