Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies Co. (AWPT) signed today, Dec. 10, a long-term operation and maintenance contract worth SAR 2.18 billion, excluding VAT, with the National Water Co. (NWC).
Running for 15 years, the contract involves the long-term operation and maintenance of sewage treatment plants in Riyadh, specifically Al Haer & Heet Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Project (Package 6).
In a statement to Tadawul, the company said the scope of work includes the design, rehabilitation, testing, operation, and maintenance of the four existing sewage treatment plants in Heet and Al Haer, Riyadh. The plants covered in this package are Heet 1, Heet 2, Heet 3, and Al Haer STP.
The design and rehabilitation work will be carried out over two phases in 36 months. Simultaneously, the operation and maintenance activities will kick off at the contract's commencement and persist for 15 years (180 months). The cumulative designed treatment capacity of the plants is 870,000 cubic meters per day.
The company expects the financial impact of the project to appear in the second quarter of 2024, stating that there are no related parties involved. AWPT officially received the contract after obtaining all the required signatures today, the statement added.
According to data available on Argaam, the company announced in November winning the SAR 2.2 billion contract (VAT exclusive).
