Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih met today, Dec. 10, with China’s commerce and industry ministers in Beijing to discuss expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and tech fields, Reuters reported, citing the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

 

During the Saudi minister’s visit, China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao indicated his country’s keenness to cooperate with Saudi Arabia to activate China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and on the Saudi Vision 2030.

 

The two countries will also expand cooperation in the fields of energy, resources, infrastructure, and technology, he added.

 

China’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong said that China is open to working with Saudi Arabia in the field of new energy vehicles, aircraft, photovoltaics, and artificial intelligence (AI). This is besides joining forces to safeguard global industrial supply chains.
