Saudi Arabia opened a number of hospitals across the Kingdom, adding 1,200 beds to the healthcare sector in 2023, said Saudi Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel during the Saudi Budget 2024 Forum.

The number of oncology centers increased from nine to 18 in 2023, reducing patients’ suffering by 66%, boosting operational efficiency, and eliminating waiting time, Al-Jalajel added.

The ministry’s policies, mapped out in coordination with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), helped cut the number of chronic disease deaths, the minister noted.
