Watani Steel to start maintenance of production lines for 20-25 days

Watani Iron Steel Co. (Watani Steel) announced its intention to perform a scheduled shutdown of production lines, units and operational facilities for comprehensive maintenance work, according to a statement on Tadawul.

Based on the timetable, the company expects the suspension period to last between 20 and 25 days, starting from Dec. 15.

This scheduled maintenance aims to enhance the safety and stability of operational activities and extending the productive lifespan of all production units and operational facilities in the future. Watani Steel said sales are not expected to be impacted during this period, given that this shutdown was included in the company's business plan for the current year.

In addition, the company maintains sufficient levels of finished product inventory to meet customer demands during this maintenance period.

The financial implications of the suspension will be reflected in the company’s results at the end of 2023, the statement said.
