Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Alkhateeb
Tourism contributes 8% to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product (GDP), Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Alkhateeb said.
This increase will constantly grow, Alkhateen added during a panel at the Saudi Green Initiative forum held on the sidelines on COP28 in Dubai, expecting the tourism sector’s contribution to reach 10% of GDP by 2030.
The minister predicted the number of non-Saudi tourists to near 26 million this year and 70 million by 2030.
Saudi Arabia aims to rank among the world’s tourism destinations by 2030.
Last month, Alkhateeb said the Kingdom is expected to draw about 100 million visits, encompassing both domestic and international visitors.
