stc Group says investor number spikes 700% on transparency, disclosure

stc Group announced a spike in the number of investors by nearly 700% to 270,000 in the last few years, compared to around 40,000 investors earlier. The Group’s investor base is comprised of local, GCC and foreign investors.

In a statement to Argaam, stc Group said the recent growth was spurred by stepping up investor relations activities and endeavors by adopting effective communication policies, providing detailed data, and improving disclosure and transparency.

These endeavors contributed to luring more investors from the GCC, Arab and global markets through facilitating the investment decision-making processes, the Group added.

Having participated recently in the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) Conference 2023, stc Group has started activating its investor relations more than ever.

The Group seeks to enhance communication between those interested in the investment opportunities offered by the Group on one hand, and the senior management, on the other, by conveying various messages, data, figures, and business outlook to drive investor insightful decisions.

stc Group increased its presence in specialized conferences, upgraded its website and social media accounts to keep investors up to date on the company’s latest news, which in turn attracted more investors.

The disclosure approach stc Group adopts focuses on providing information for everyone, while abiding by the Capital Market Authority’s (CMA) disclosure rules. This approach seeks to address all types of investors - institutions and individuals - and enable investors to be updated on the Group’s performance through disclosures, annual report and quarterly investor presentation. The Group is also keen to host investor calls virtually to ensure that all information is at hand.

stc Group affirmed its keenness on diversifying its communication channels with investors, whether by way of conferences, emails, investor calls, or its website.

The Group will continue to enhance the level of disclosure. It has started with announcing the number of package subscribers, and the financial performance of subsidiaries to apply the best disclosure practices.
